On 17 September 2024 Zoological Parks Organization Animal Health team examined the breeding pair of Asian King vulture (also known as Red-heaed vulture), named Ming (female) and Pok (male). The breeding pair brooded a female nestling which hatched on 9 February 2024. This nestling was the first for the female breeder in the captive breeding program located in Huai Khakhaeng wildlife sanctuary, the historical breeding site of this globally- and critically-endangered species which has been extirpated in the wild of Thailand for more than 3 decades. The flegling is 7 mont-old, and now separated from the parent, moved to a nearby nursery enclosure for hacking process to future release for population recovery of the specie in the world-heritage sanctuary.

First captive-bred female red-headed vulture was hatched in Korat Zoo in 2023, and now is being raised to become a breeding stock into the program.
Thailand Red-headed Vulture project is the collaboration of Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Zoological Parks Organization of Thailand, Kasetsart University's Faculties of Forestry & Veterinary Medicine and Seub Nakhasathien Foundation since 2021.
