On 23 July 2014 I found a pair of Black-breasted Thrush with a nest on Doi Ang Kang. The nest contained three young birds.
On 24 July I heard that this breeding was already known and the nest originally contained four young. That day the three birds left the nest.
While still on the nest they were fed regularly by both parents with larvae and worms. The male, a 2nd summer bird, foraged mainly in the neighbourhood of the nest tree while the female, an adult, was always further away. When the birds had left the nest they were fed with grasshoppers and craneflies.
They were hopping around the area and far less frequently fed that on the nest.
The male did not fed the young with the worm. Instead of feeding it, it lured the young with the food into the forest (probably because the young, not able to fly yet, are saver there). Once the whole family was in the forest the young weren't seen anymore (only heard) and the parents only a few times (Albert Noorlander).
